Stephanie Walton joined the COIL team as the Executive Director in August of 2014. Prior to joining COIL, Mrs. Walton served as the Assistant Superintendent of Charter Schools for a district in the San Joaquin Valley. Mrs. Walton has also held positions as a math and careers teacher, high school independent study charter school Principal and a charter school Executive Director.
She began her career in education in 2002 when she made a career change from being an executive in the high tech industry to following her true passion - serving youth in education. She loves working with fellow educators to help ensure children have the education that best serves their needs and leads to life-long success.
Mrs. Walton was born and raised in Tracy, California. She and her husband Ron have 8 children and 7 grandchildren. Mrs. Walton enjoys spending time with family, spoiling her grandchildren, and working in the yard; where she loves to propagate plants collected from a variety of locations.
She received her Bachelor's of Science Degree in Statistics from Brigham Young University, Master of Education from CSU Stanislaus in Educational Leadership, and holds an administrative credential.
